Furnishing with colour

From walls to furniture, several creative solutions marked by sustainability and the pursuit of nature and harmony.

Nature at home

A key hot topic is sustainability, the pursuit of new shapes and materials, to achieve maximum functionality, while safeguarding health, safety and the environment. This commitment is turning into a trend and it embellishes furnishings and designs with a splash of “green”, with solutions that envisage the inclusion within the home of elements that make users feel that they are in touch with the outside world: green spaces and corners, even vegetable gardens and vertical walls in hydroculture.

Points of colour

Colours create an atmosphere and afford surprising suggestions, both on the walls and on the ceiling, or only on small portions of the wall to create cornices, optical effects and chromatic games. In general, a wide and bright room can accommodate any colour without any problems, whereas for smaller and slightly darker settings, it is important to consider the light effect. So would it be better to opt for total white? To add character to a room, adding a remarkable, lively shade could prove useful. One wall is enough, for instance the one used as a backdrop to a cabinet or an element you wish to emphasise.

Trendy green

The eco-sustainable commitment and the pursuit of green is also part of a more emotional aspect that concerns the choice of colour tones. Colour becomes part of the design and plays the starring role in super customised furnishing solutions. The mantra colour at Milano Design Week 2019 was in fact green, in its warm and intense shades that add fragrance to the Mediterranean and draw their inspiration from the Fifties.

On the rug

Trendy accessories, rugs enhance the beauty of any floor. Made in several natural materials such as vegetable silk and wool, they provide new furnishing ideas, from those with a more traditional style to those with a bright and modern look, thanks to a broad choice of colours and high-impact textures.

Colours on the floor

During the year of the Salone del Mobile dedicated to the genius of Leonardo, the colour palette proposed is harmonious and inspired by the primary colours found in nature: green, as mentioned above; and also blue like the sky and the sea, evergreen in its endless shades; the colours of the earth, such as mustard yellow which livens up the settings and adds character to spaces and neutral furnishings. Vibrant and bold hues that turn the home into a place brimming with energy and well-being.
