Let’s have a look at a few of them.

Elements, which expand widthways and upwards, modernise the kitchen décor. Can be used as surfaces on which to stand items, cabinets in which to store them or as another display space.

In terms of visual integration between the rooms of a house, modern kitchens increasingly feature cupboards or other cabinets not usually found in this environment.
One of the most popular recent trends is the use of low-level base units.
Let’s have a look at a few of them.

Low-level base units, inspired by solutions typically found in the living room, are designed with open-plan environments in mind, for a creative finishing touch in the kitchen.
These elements, which expand widthways and upwards, modernise the kitchen décor and can be used as surfaces on which to stand items, cabinets in which to store them or as another display space.

They are also perfect for housing hi-fi and television equipment, as well as lamps, books or pictures.
But this is more than a trend: low-level base units creatively complement functional elements in the kitchen, creating unusual solutions.
One of the distinctive features of these solutions is the interesting split-level surfaces created, which effectively doubles space to offer greater practicality.
An example is illustrated in the picture (above and left), where the low-level base unit acts as a creative continuation of the kitchen worktop.
