How to install resin, linoleum and carpet

Whatever your choice of covering, it is important to remember that it must be laid onto a smooth, clean surface that is free from holes and cracks, and with a pre-existing flooring that is perfectly glued.

Resin is applied in three stages using a roller or putty knife

A first coat is given using the epoxy resin, then it is the turn of the polyurethane resin, finally, a finishing film .

Resin flooring
The main advantage of resin is that it can be used to cover any flooring.
It is also so slim that it takes up very little space, which is particularly useful near doorways.
Resin is therefore applied in three stages using a roller or putty knife: a first coat is given using the epoxy resin, then it is the turn of the polyurethane resin that gives shine and determines the colour.
Finally, a finishing film is applied that can be either coloured or transparent.
The flooring can be walked on 48 hours after installation.

Laying linoleum
Linoleum is available in various different models and colours. It is sold as sheets or tiles. The first thing to do is to lay it over the surface, ensuring that it adheres perfectly. You can use a large brush to help eliminate any bubbles that may form. Linoleum sheet must be larger than your room. The second thing to do is therefore to use a cutter to remove any excess along the walls, leaving , an overlay of approximately 5 centimetres.
We then move onto the final gluing, trimming the edges precisely.
For a perfect result, use a putty knife to spread the glue uniformly on the back of the material.

Creating carpet
Carpet can be laid, as required, in three different ways.
- the classic way is to glue it down, as this provides the greatest reliability. Please take care to choose the right glue: it must be suitable to the carpet material as otherwise it may stick too hard to the floor or, vice versa, too little;
- it can also be laid using double-sided adhesive tape by applying the tape along the edge of the area to be covered and across any joints that will therefore remain perfectly invisible and firmly fixed;
- the free lay, on the other hand, entails laying the carpet as though it were a rug, without any form of gluing or fixing.
The free lay is the simplest: the carpet is cut to size and held along the walls using a plinth and at the door with a specific edge.
