Scavolini Quality Lab
The Scavolini Quality Lab is a modern test laboratory, where we constantly carry out checks and tests in addition to those carried out during the running of daily checks, based on national and international reference standards.
We perform two categories of tests on random samples:
- tests on new materials and products:
preliminary assessment of all critical issues in materials and products before they go into production.
- ongoing monitoring:
evaluation of the performance of materials and products already in production (both internal production and external supply).
- Mechanical Operation Tests
- Opening/closing tests on hinged doors.
- Testing the opening/closure of sliding elements (drawers, baskets).
- Light Tests
-Evaluation of the effects of light on surfaces.
- Climate Tests
- Testing resistance to damp/dry cycles.
- Heat resistance tests.
- Steam exposure testing.
- Water Tests
- Submerging the sample to test water resistance.
- Drip action to test water resistance.
- Water-repellency evaluation of panels.
- Surface tests
- Testing the resistance of surfaces to common household products.
- Testing the resistance of surfaces to the most common household cleaning products.
- Testing coating adhesion (cross-cut test).
- Scratch resistance testing.
- Abrasion and wear resistance testing.
- Testing the resistance of surfaces to impact.
- Load tests
- Testing element resistance and bend under heavy loads.
- Cabinet safety tests (tipping, failure, breakage, etc.).
We perform several other tests for the evaluation of material and product characteristics: for example, worktop usage resistance, lighting system operation, hood operation, etc. For other specific types of tests we use qualified external laboratories (such as Cosmob):
- evaluation of formaldehyde emissions or other VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)
- resistance of tables and chairs, etc.
