Environmental awareness and respect

All of our behaviours together that make us prioritise environmental protection has a name: Scavolini Green Mind.
Energy
Since 2008, we have been using electricity for our activities only from renewable sources, thanks to:
  • the roofing of our plants with a photovoltaic system (Sunload project (2011).
  • the certified use of green energy produced by renewable sources, when solar energy cannot be used.
In compliance with the provisions of Italian Legislative Decree 102/2014, we carry out the so-named “Energy Diagnosis”, which allows energy consumption to be constantly monitored and improved.
Air
We periodically check the emissions produced by our production activities, in compliance with legal limits and to reduce pollutant emissions. We have also introduced efficient filtering systems to reduce the pollutants emitted into the atmosphere.
As for the air you breathe at home, we certify very low emissions of Formaldehyde and other volatile substances in our products.
Watching our waste
We carefully separate more than 30 different types of waste, including paper, cardboard, wood, glass, metals and plastic.
We manage to recycle more than 95% of the waste produced by our production activities.
Water
We are careful of our water consumption (its use is very limited in our production), taking many necessary measures to avoid waste. We pay special attention to “natural recycling” with rainwater basins for fire prevention.
Paper and cardboard
Our goal is to achieve maximum digitization of internal and external company communication processes. We consequently always choose papers and print suppliers with a strong ecological value. Specifically, we only use papers sourced from sustainably managed forests to print all our catalogs and price lists.
To ensure a lower environmental impact, we use cartons made from recycled - and recyclable - material for our product packaging.
Painting processes
In partnership with our suppliers, we use processes and technologies that guarantee safety and low environmental impacts, combined with quality- and performance-related requirements.
In particular, what are referred to as VOCs (volatile organic compounds) present in paints are minimized as much as possible: these volatile organic compounds are constantly monitored by conducting laboratory tests, in compliance with the strict standards of the LEED international regulation.
