Choosing the right chair

A guide to choosing this element

In a room such as the kitchen, where we work and spend most of our time, comfort is essential.
This is why choosing a chair is of fundamental importance.
It is an element which is often coordinated with the kitchen, but if you want to opt for a different model, here are the main rules you should follow.

On the other hand, stools are recommended for a peninsula or island with a counter or snack bar. A swivel seat also offers greater comfort and freedom of movement.

Functional features

Chairs should be practical, comfortable and unobtrusive.
The first factor to consider is comfort: this is a highly personal matter of opinion, therefore all you need to do is try a few different models in order to find the one best suited to your requirements.
No less important are the factors of strength, lightness and ease of handling, because you will have to move them often, when cleaning the room or if you are hosting a dinner party.
When it comes to the material, it is better to choose one that is easy to wash, but almost all models offer this quality nowadays.

The ideal size results in a gap of 25/30 cm between the seat and the top, even if you have opted for stools.

Armless models are also preferable, as they are narrower, easier to move and can be tucked right up against the top.

In any case, if you need more information, your retailer will be able to help you choose the most suitable model for your type of table.

There is a chair to suit every layout and style

The type of chair depends on the space available and the layout of units in the kitchen.
If the size of the room is such that the dining table can be placed in the centre, you can go for a simple model featuring an unusual design.
In the example on the right, the colour, shape and material of the Scenery chair perfectly complement the tempered glass table.

On the other hand, stools are recommended for a peninsula or island with a counter or snack bar.
A swivel seat also offers greater comfort and freedom of movement.
The combination of style with the table and the kitchen units is also very important.
For example, if you have decorated the room using a classic model, you can choose a chair like the one in the picture on the right: the solid antique effect beech body and synthetic straw seat bring even more of a country feel to the kitchen.
